The two new PhD students, Tatiana Shubina and Ahsen Cini, have recently joined the LET team. The new researchers will take part in the CLEVER research project, developing their dissertations on the collected data. In the following, we would like to introduce them and their research topic.
Tatiana Shubina:
”My background lays in psychological (B.S. degree in Psychology People’s Friendship University of Russia) and teaching and learning (M.S. degree in Education Technische Universität Munchen) areas. Now I am glad to proceed with my research career at Learning and Educational Technology (LET) unit at the University of Oulu. Specifically, my PhD study concerns the relation between motivational believes and motivation and emotion regulation in collaborative learning. In my PhD study, I am going to employ the process-oriented approach and use the multimodal data, combining objective (heart rate and skin conductivity) and subjective (self-reports) measures.”
Ahsen Cini:
” I have completed my BSc in Science Education at Bogazici University and my MSc in Psychology in Education at the University of York. I have enrolled in Learning & Educational Technology (LET) unit team at University of Oulu as a PhD student. The aim of my PhD study is to investigate how learners establish metacognitive awareness in collaborative groups and what type of situations learners benefit of this awareness support. It is hypothesized that metacognitive awareness in groups is needed for socially shared regulation of learning.”
